Backlog Cleanup add-on
Reply to your old Google reviews with Backlog Cleanup
Backlog Cleanup is a one-time, per-location add-on that writes replies, in your voice, to past Google reviews that never got a reply. Old reviews follow the same rule as new ones: we reply to every 3–5★ review. 1–2★ replies wait in your portal for your approval. Reviews that already have a reply are left alone.
Choose your Backlog Cleanup size
| Size | Price |
|---|---|
| Up to 100 reviews | $99 |
| Up to 250 reviews | $199 |
| Up to 500 reviews | $299 |
| Up to 1,000 reviews | $399 |
| Up to 2,500 reviews | $499 |
| More than 2,500 reviews (all reviews) | $599 |
Each price is a one-time charge per location.
Backlog Cleanup is separate from your monthly plan. The monthly plan is $49/month for the first 100 customers; after that, Starter is $79/month per location.
What happens to each past review
| Past review | What ReplyDaily does |
|---|---|
| Already has a reply | Nothing. A review that already has a reply never gets a second one. |
| 3–5★, no reply yet | We reply in your voice through the Google Business Profile integration. |
| 1–2★, no reply yet | Drafts a reply and holds it in your portal. Approve it, edit it or write your own. Nothing posts for a 1–2★ review until you approve it. |
How it works
- Connect your Google Business Profile (or use the connection you already have). The access ReplyDaily uses is listed on our security page.
- Pick a size at checkout or in your portal.
- Set your voice. Choose a tone and sign-off, and list topics replies should avoid.
- Check your portal. We reply to every 3–5★ review. 1–2★ replies wait in your portal for your approval.
Why reply to old reviews at all?
Unanswered reviews stay visible on your Business Profile. Customers reading them today see whether anyone answered. A short, specific reply, even late, shows the business is listening. Google encourages businesses to reply to reviews (Google's guidance).
Tips for replying to an old review
- Don't over-apologise for the delay. A brief "Thanks for this, and sorry for the slow reply" is enough.
- Mention one detail from the review so it doesn't read like a template.
- For old complaints, acknowledge, don't argue, and invite the customer to contact you directly. Things may have changed since; say so only if it's true.
- Don't offer discounts or freebies in a public reply. Google advises keeping replies conversational, not promotional.
Illustrative example (not a real client):
★★★★★ "Great service, they fixed it the same day." (posted last year)
"Thank you, and sorry we're only replying now! Glad we could fix it the same day. — [Name], [Business]"
Fake reviews: report them, don't argue
Only Google can remove a review. If an old review breaks Google's policies, report it from your Business Profile (how to report a review). Backlog Cleanup doesn't remove reviews.
